For each kick, there's so much experiencing my head that it becomes challenging to just relax and execute the move. A summary of the items I think about when kicking:

.Obtain the correct range and land with the shin
.Pivot those hips
.Turn so my navel is perpendicular to my opponent
.Climb onto the toes of my lead leg
.And rotate on those toes
.Obtain the leg to position
.Now get the leg returning to positions faster
.Watch my balance
.Chop with my arm
.Try not to chop a great deal that I leave myself exposed for that counter

It is a lot. And so, with all of this within my head, a kick isn't just a kick. It is a complex, and at sometimes inscrutable group of directions, all of which should be executed in the second, and then done again, and again, and again. Understanding that can, at times, be both frustrating and disheartening. When you use individuals who have moved through this and who is able to make all of these things happen with what seems like no effort, it's not hard to get upon your technique. But when I do, I aim my better to remember 2 things. First, that "effortlessness" on the part is merely simply because they devote this same effort I'm putting in now and arrived on the scene the other side. Second, in the end, a kick is still only a kick. And it'll be personally once more, just as long as I keep at it.
